An Indo American Destination Wedding In Goa
We recently planned an Indo American Wedding in Goa and it was one big party. Goa is the land of sun, sand and beaches. The vibe of this place is sure to put you in a relaxed mood. We are no strangers to the fact that Goa is the party capital of India. Did you know, that a lot of young couples from all over the world chose Goa as their preferred wedding destination. Well who can blame them. This place is a gift with nature at its best and there is so much warmth and hospitality in the people here. So here we were, once again headed to our favorite Wedding Destination in India, Goa.
A lovely couple who were so much in love that a glimpse of them would make you believe in the magic of love. They made a beautiful couple. They completed each other. Annirudh had been living in the US for about fifteen years. This is where he met the love of his life, Annamarie. It did not take long for the two to realize that they were meant for each other. They decided to tie the knot in Annirudhs Hometown, Hyderabad. They did not want to shy away from showing how happy they were and hence decided to have a wedding reception in Goa with their close family and relatives.
Annirudh and Annamarie got in touch with us three months ago. They gave us a brief idea of what they were looking for. We had a couple of skype calls, exchanged emails and we were good to go. It was a two day event. So we started working on a timeline and the events we could hold on the two days. Since this was not a regular wedding, as all the rituals and the wedding had already taken place in Hyderabad. So we had to use our expertise in deciding what we would incorporate here.
A small intimate wedding reception in Goa deserves a venue that compliments the need and feel. Hence we suggested a beautiful luxury boutique resort in the North of Goa, La Cabana. La Cabana is a hidden gem situated on the shores of the beautiful Ashwem beach. This property accommodates upto 150 people. It has a combination of sea view chalets, modern elegant tents and a beautiful portuegese villa. The panaromic view of the Arabian sea is mesmerizing. It is also known to host the most number of wedding in a year which also includes some Celebrity Weddings. On an average this place hosts about 50+ weddings in a year.
Indo American Wedding Reception In Goa
The couple and their guests arrive late afternoon on day 1. We decided to arrange a high tea so that guests could freshen up and de stress from all the travel. The guests were welcomed with a welcome drink followed by check in. After check in the guests were pampered with some lovely tea and coffee accompanied with sandwiches, pakodas, cookies and so on. Soon after, we were all set with our first event of the day.
Since the property had a terrific view of the Arabian sea, we decided to hold a sun downer. For the décor we added multi coloured lit gazebos facing the sea where the guest could relax and unwind. We had made arrangements for an artist from Mumbai, Mateen Kardame. Mateen is a solo artist whose voice is simply magic. Having hosted popular events, one of which includes opening the stage for Arijit Singh. We knew he would create magic with his voice, and he did. He was loved by everyone so much that we even had the guests sing a song with him. All in all it was a perfect setting with the sun going down, cool breeze and some soothing music.
The Sundowner was followed by an after party at the beautiful beach side restaurant. The guests were treated to some amazing cocktails, beers and wine. We had DJ Vally from Goa, who had the guests on their feet until midnight. He played a great mix of commercial, hip hop and bollywood numbers. Seeing the Americans dance to Bollywood, now that’s a sight you would not want to miss. They just love Bollywood, don’t they?
So after a long night, the next day started with a pool party. DJ Vally was once again making the guests grove to his music with a different genre this time. Beers and wines did the rounds with the guests soaking up in the sun. This was followed by brunch and bbq by the pool side.
The décor for the reception was modern and classy with a beautiful chandelier backdrop. The entrance was designed to complement the backdrop and we had a beautiful glass lantern at the entrance. The wooden dance floor was all lit with rice lights at the ceiling. Chiavari chairs completed the look with a western setting. Beautiful cylindrical glasses with crystals, white orchids and tea candles created a perfect ambience for the occasion.
A wedding reception in Goa is incomplete without a Goan band. Having planned several weddings in Goa, we did not want our Indo American couple and their guests to miss out on this one. We hired Lynx, aka Band of the Sand, a Goan band who set the stage on fire. Their genre of music, their energy, everything about them was simply awesome. Their slogan When in Goa, do as the Goan’s do sure won many hearts. The show ended with some local goan songs which were a show stopper of the evening.
