Destination Wedding Alibaug
Wedding Planning – Where it all started
Mrs Kamal Shah contacted us regarding her son’s Wedding. The Bride and Groom lived outside the country. Hence, all the planning was being handled by her. We had a couple of meetings, during which we discussed our professional role in planning, designing, managing and executing the various events. We were on board and since then we met on several occasions; planning and discussing our options in making the wedding unique and memorable. Soon, we were more like family. We fell in love with her personality. A woman with strong values and beliefs. On the other hand, an emotional mother who did not want to leave any stone unturned to make this wedding a unique affair. And that’s exactly what we wanted the wedding to reflect. A modern, luxurious and elegant affair.
Since Aditya and Madhur lived in Australia, we only spoke over the phone on a couple of occasions. We only got to see them closer to the wedding date when they arrived in India. They are the cutest couple we have seen. More like a match made in heaven. Grounded, polite, sweet, super cool, are some words we can use to describe this gorgeous couple. Looking at them we knew for sure that this was going to be a picture perfect wedding.
Lets start with these unique and beautiful invites. A quadrangular shaped invite with a combination of ivory and gold on the outside and colorful cards on the inside. Each colour representing each function.
The wedding had total of four functions, As all hindu weddings do. It was a destination wedding and we had guests gracing the occasion from Gujarat, Mumbai, Turkey and Australia ! We simply love the idea of a destination wedding. How it binds all the guests together like one big family, having one big party ! It definitely leaves beautiful memories which guests can cherish for a lifetime.
The celebration started with the Mehendi ceremony. Where all the ladies including the Bride applied mehendi on their hands and legs. Since, Mehendi ceremony is all about fun, we added a lot of vibrant colors to the décor along with some traditional designs like bandhani . The ceremony was made more interesting by adding some street food experience to it like golas, chaat, sugar cane juice etc. The idea was to keep it as earthy and traditional as possible. The guests enjoyed local Gujarati and Bollywood music and played garba and dandiya, a form of folk dance that originates from Gujarat. The ceremony was completed with handcrafted jewellery boxes as a return gifts.
A sangeet ceremony is all about both families coming together and putting up some fun performances for the couple. The families usually start preparing for these performances a month in advance, and this is kept a secret from the couple. The couple enjoys these surprise performances on the sangeet day. We had some amazing family performances. To add glitz and glamour to the occasion, we had a mind boggling performance by our celebrity performer Khushboo Grewal. Her presence made this event an unforgettable one. She rocked the night with her oomph. As far as décor was concerned,we decided to try a unique theme, Moroccan theme. The stage, the entrance, the dance floor, table pieces everything was covered with Moroccan designs and the entire place was converted into one big Moroccan party. The celebration continued till wee hours.
Pool Party & BBQ Brunch
After a fun filled night, the next day started with a relaxed pool party. It was not just any other pool party, it was a barbeque brunch pool party. There were lip smacking barbeque food items to please the guests’ taste palettes. The décor also had to be cool and soothing to the eyes. We decided to play with sky blue, greens and yellows. We kept it trendy and fun by using pompoms, lanterns and other fun props.
A wedding symbolises union of two hearts and their families. A day that stands for true love. A day when the couple in front of their friends and families promise to be one forever. We decided to give it an elegant, beautiful and cozy feel. We all unanimously narrowed down on a rustic theme with a combination of white and pink that stands for purity, love and affection. The mandap was beautifully decorated with fresh flowers and white draping. We used barrels, chiavari chairs, amber bulbs and candles to give it a rustic and cozy look. Not to forget the love signages, that helped add romance to the whole look. The Mandap was surrounded by a water body which was decorated with some floating candles. While the guests mingled with each other enjoying every moment of this beautiful wedding, our vocalist and guitarist Mateen Kardame entertained everyone with his mesmerizing voice. It was a perfect set up for a memorable destination wedding. The one that the guests will surely remember for the rest of their lives.
This wedding was nothing short of a fairy tale wedding. An epitome of a big fat Indian wedding. Every guest was treated with utmost love and care. The guests were presented a beautiful farewell gift for gracing the wedding with their presence.
Thank you so much the entire Shah and Advani family for showering your love on us and making us a part of your beautiful family. Special mention to Mrs Kamal Shah. You are the most beautiful soul we have ever met. We have added this wedding to one of the most beautiful chapters of our lives.
